Two (why not three!?) HUAWEI billboards outside Apple, UK.

The Inquirer After getting burned in the US, HUAWEI has reportedly decided to redouble its efforts in other crucial markets. One of those markets is the UK and ahead of the launch of the P20 next week, HUAWEI has launched an aggressive marketing campaign on, quite literally, the doorstep of its competitors.

The Chinese giant has already confirmed that the next P-series flagships will break cover at a launch event in Paris next Tuesday. To drive that point home, HUAWEI has deployed trucks outfitted with promotional billboards to several major cities, including the UK’s capital, London.

The best part? According to The Inquirer, the trucks have mostly been spotted camping outside Apple Store and Samsung Experiences stores.

As well as the billboards, HUAWEI has also sprayed (what you’d have to assume is temporary) street graffiti on the pavement outside stores occupied by its industry rivals. The advertisements once again unsubtly reference the expected camera improvements for both the P20 and P20 Pro.

The line “a renaissance in photography is coming” appears on both the trucks and graffiti, with the letters “AI” emphasized in reference to the P20’s AI-powered camera features.

In case you’ve missed all of HUAWEI’s blatant hints, the P20 Pro is all-but-confirmed to pack the first-ever Leica triple camera with a total megapixel count of over 40 MP and 5 times hybrid zoom capabilities.

We’ll know more about the P20 Pro and the vanilla P20 next week, but for now, let’s all just consider how hilarious it must have been to be inside one of the Apple or Samsung stores when some HUAWEI trucks (or vans in the UK) rocked up outside. Nice work, HUAWEI.
