Leaked image of the HUAWEI P20 Lite shows off iPhone X-like notch, vertically-aligned cameras

The HUAWEI P20 Lite looks to be for those who want higher-end features and not fork over the P20 and P20 Plus' presumably higher price tags.

TL;DR
  • Another leaked image of HUAWEI’s rumored P20 Lite recently surfaced.
  • The P20 Lite reportedly features an iPhone X-style notch, dual cameras, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
  • HUAWEI is expected to announce the P20 Lite alongside the P20 and P20 Plus during its March 23 event in Paris.

Even though March 23 is almost guaranteed to bring the HUAWEI P20 and P20 Plus, growing evidence in recent weeks suggest a third smartphone: the P20 Lite. Set up as the successor to last year’s P10 Lite, the P20 Lite recently popped up again, courtesy of VentureBeat‘s Evan Blass.

The P20 Lite render we saw a few weeks ago showed off the iPhone X-style notch, but the leaked image further cements the feature. The ASUS Zenfone 5’s notch is just as small and includes no special hardware, so we can assume the same about the P20 Lite’s.

Elsewhere, the P20 Lite reportedly features a 5.6-inch, 2250 x 1080 display. If true, it would corroborate the dimensions listed in the FCC documents that suggest the phone features a display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. Regardless of the aspect ratio, the P20 Lite looks to feature minimal bezels along the sides.

Around the back is a circular fingerprint sensor and vertically-aligned dual-camera system. The leak points to a pair of 16 MP sensor with hybrid zoom capabilities, though we do not know how the second camera will be used.

Under the hood, the P20 Lite reportedly sports HUAWEI’s octa-core Kirin 659 processor, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal storage, and a 3,520 mAh battery. Finally, the P20 Lite reportedly features EMUI 8.0 on top of Android Oreo.

Not much else is known about the P20 Lite, though there have been plenty of rumblings about its flagship siblings, the P20 and P20 Lite. Make sure to swing by our rumor round-up to get caught up on everything about the two devices ahead of HUAWEI’s event in Paris.
