HTC has just announced a new partnership with six-time MLB All-Star and Seattle Mariners second baseman, Robinson Cano. We’ve seen HTCpartner with quite a few big names in the past, including Robert Downey Jr, and now they’re making their way into the professional baseball field. His new title is the “North American Ambassador” for the brand, and the partnership is said to be “born out of a shared dedication to the pursuit of personal excellence”.

Cano explains,

HTC is a natural fit for me because they always want to be the best at what they do. Their products are great for me because I’m always on the road and I need my phone to work as hard as I do.

In addition to playing professional ball in Seattle, Robinson Cano works hard on his RC22 Foundation, to help out underprivileged children worldwide. He’s currently working on the RC22 Dream School, a Montessori school and community education center in the works, set to be established in the Dominican Republic. It makes sense that HTCwants a guy like Cano representing their brand, especially for all the great work he does in the off-season.

We should be seeing much more of Cano in the near future – commercials, events, and pretty much anything else that HTCis doing in the public. Here’s to hoping they utilize him better than they did RDJ. What do you think of the new partnership? Let us know in the comments.
