HTC launched the HTC Desire 12 and HTC Desire 12 Plus back in March. The devices bring large 18:9 screens at a relatively low price; the Desire 12 Plus starts at 199 pounds in the U.K. (the Desire 12 series is not officially available in the U.S.).
Now, it looks like India is getting in on the fun, via Gadgets 360, as the two Desire 12 variants will hit store shelves in that country on Monday, June 11. Pre-orders open tomorrow, June 7, via the HTC India online store.
The HTC Desire 12 will cost 15,800 rupees (~$236), and the Plus variant will cost 19,790 rupees (~$296).
As previously announced, the HTC Desire 12 features a 5.5-inch, 18:9 screen with a 1,440 x 720 (HD+) resolution and a quad-core MediaTek MT6739 chipset. The memory comes in at 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card up to 2TB.
There’s a 13MP camera on the back with phase-detection autofocus (PDAF), and a 5MP selfie camera. The battery capacity comes in at 2,730mAh. It’s also running Android Oreo out of the box.
As for the HTC Desire 12 Plus, it features a larger 6-inch display, also with an 18:9 aspect ratio and 1,440 x 720 resolution. It’s running an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset and comes in the same 3GB RAM / 32GB internal storage setup with 2TB microSD support.
Unlike the vanilla Desire 12, the Plus variant comes with a dual-camera setup on the back (13MP + 2MP) with PDAF, and an 8MP snapper at the front. There’s also a rear fingerprint scanner and a larger battery capacity at 2,965mAh.
