HTC Camera

HTC’s camera app is the latest core application to be made separately available for download, making it easier for existing HTC owners to update their camera without the need of a firmware update.

The release notes on the Google Play listing state that HTC Eye Experience is also included, but that it’s availability would depend on which device the camera is installed on. The Play Store description also says that the update supports Android devices with “4.4 and up” , but doesn’t mention any specific model numbers.

Even though most of the core apps from HTCare available for HTCdevices only, I headed over to the Play Store to try my luck downloading it for my Galaxy Note 3 (a man can dream, can’t he?). My hopes of HTC doing something similar to what Google did with the Google camera (working across multiple devices regardless of manufacturer) were however quickly lost, as it showed as incompatible.

While HTCdidn’t mention specifically which devices would support the Eye Experience feature (or which HTCmodels the camera supports at all for that matter), it does seem that this application may only work for  HTC devices running newer versions of Sense. If you have an HTCphone running Android 4.4, you can head on over to Google Play via the source link below to see if your phone’s compatible.

Is the camera working on your device? Did installing it bring your phone the Eye Experience feature?  Let us know in the comments below!
