How to manually eject a disc from a PS4
The older your PS4, the more complicated things get.
A small reason gamers and platform holders have gradually shifted towards digital-only releases is the vulnerability of DVDs and Blu-Rays, including discs getting stuck in a drive. If you’ve got a disc stuck in your PS4, there is, thankfully, a workaround for pulling it out — though the exact details depend on your PS4 model.

How to manually eject a disc from a PS4 Slim or Pro
Sony
- Turn off the console, and unplug all cables. You might want to label those cables if there’s a chance you’ll get them confused later.
- Flip your PS4 upside-down and rest it on a desk or table.
- Locate the manual eject release, which is a screw hole above the PlayStation logo. Remove its cap if there is one.
- Insert a matching Phillips screwdriver into the hole, then turn counter-clockwise. There’s a layer of plastic you’ll need to push through, but Sony says you can do this without voiding your warranty.
- Your disc should pop out, at which point you can reconnect cables and power on.
