Honor 9 with dual-camera setup to be announced on June 12?
The upcoming Honor 9 stopped by TENAA a few days ago, so we already have an idea of what to expect from the device in terms of specs. Thanks to a promotional poster that leaked recently, we now also have a clue as to when the device will be announced.
The successor to the popular Honor 8 could be officially revealed on June 12 at a press event in Shanghai, China. In addition to the date, the poster also reveals that the smartphone will feature a dual-camera setup — something the TENAA listing also suggested. The tagline reads “Beautiful and Colorful”, hinting that the Honor 9 will be available in a few different color options.
In case you’ve missed it, the Honor 9 is expected to sport a 5.15-inch display with Full HD resolution. It’s expected to house a Kirin 960 chipset under the hood along with 4 or 6 GB of RAM, with both versions offering 64 GB of storage.
As already mentioned, the device is tipped to feature a dual-camera setup on the back with 20 and 12 MP sensors, in addition to a 3,100 mAh battery, an 8 MP selfie snapper, and a fingerprint scanner located on the front, below the screen. It would likely run Android Nougat with the latest version of the EMUI user interface on top.
Although not confirmed, the Honor 9 with 4 GB of RAM is said to cost 2,299 yuan (around $355), while the model with 6 GB of RAM may set you back 2,599 yuan (around $380).
