HONOR has announced that it will roll out the EMUI 8.0 update, based on Android Oreo, to the HONOR 7X and HONOR 8 in Q2, 2018. HONOR France revealed the news in a tweet yesterday (via GSMArena), and also stated that the rollout to the HONOR 9 and HONOR 8 Pro had commenced in the region.

We’d seen the HONOR 9 and HONOR 8 Pro get EMUI 8.0 in the UK last week, so it’s making its way across Europe, but the status of the HONOR 7X and HONOR 8 update had until now been less certain. While this Q2 timeframe may relate only to the French rollouts, given how close this last rollout was to the UK one, they’ll probably occur around the same time for much of Europe.

Tout d’abord, les mises à jour pour le passage à EMUI 8 ! ?

EMUI 8.0 is the latest software skin developed by HUAWEI—Honor’s parent company. The software contains the typical Oreo features like Picture-in-Picture mode, notification dots, new emojis etc, but HUAWEI also says that EMUI 8.0 should provide a faster, smoother experience. If you’re already rocking EMUI 8.0, let us know what you think of it in the comments.
