TL;DR
  • YouTube Premium subscribers can get three free months of Stadia Pro.
  • This applies only to people new to Stadia Pro, and who live in select countries.
  • The promotion ends January 31, 2022.

Hoping to draw subscribers to both services, Google is now offering three free months of Stadia Pro cloud gaming to people with a YouTube Premium subscription.

The promotion is an extension of Stadia Pro’s normal one-month trial, and is available only to new Pro subscribers, Google notes in a blog post. It is, however, applicable to anyone signed up for YouTube Premium‘s individual, family, or student plans so long as they live in one of the promo’s eligible countries. These include the US, UK, Canada, France, Germany, Hungary, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.

You can also claim the free Stadia Pro offer if you have a YouTube Premium trial, so you could potentially get both without spending a dime.

Google is running the campaign through January 31, 2022, but will let people redeem their free months through February 14.

Stadia Pro typically costs $9.99 per month, and unlike the regular Stadia offers free games monthly so long as a subscription is active. It also provides discounts on titles in the Stadia Store, and unlocks 4K, HDR, and 5.1-channel surround sound on compatible hardware and with a fast enough internet connection.

While Stadia can run on a wide range of devices, such as PCs, Chromecasts, and Android phones, the platform has yet to set the gaming world on fire. This is often attributed to its limited selection, and dependence on high-speed internet, which is still elusive for many people.
