Google has revealed some upcoming Nest features at its event in San Francisco. Nest is going to integrate with the Google Home and Chromecast in a more meaningful way to offer more control over your home.

The Nest will soon be able to identify frequent visitors to your home and tell you who is at your door when they arrive, if you have a Nest camera set up there. This can also be used to display a live feed on your TV via Chromecast.

What’s more, the Nest will also support Google routines for features like arming your home security systems when you go to bed, just by saying “Hey Google, goodnight.” This is just one example of the new multi-step routines that can be activated with simple phrases.

It looks like Google is aiming to make its home products feel more unified going forward. How it will all work in practice, we’ll have to wait and see.
