Google launches 2nd Gen Chromecast and Audio in India
The second generation Chromecast and Chromecast Audio models have made their way to the Indian market this week, carrying a price tag set at Rs. 3,399. The latest models originally launched last September and sport the revamped circular design, rather than the old USB dongle look.
To sweeten the deal, Google is throwing in free six month subscriptions to regional music platforms Saavn Pro and Hooq when you buy either of the devices. Of course, the streaming dongles can be used with a number of other services and devices when using the Google Cast app too.
As well as the new look, the second generation Chromecasts boasts improved dual-band 5GHz 802.11ac Wi-Fi with three antennas for smoother streaming, and an HDMI cable looped inside a circular body to easily connect up your device to a TV. The Chromecast Audio hooks up to your speakers through the 3.5mm jack instead.
A number of popular online and local Indian marketplaces currently stock the products, including Flipkart, Snapdeal, Paytm, Reliance, and Croma. You should be able to find the devices in your choice of Black, Red, or Yellow color options.
