You can now use Google Home to set a reminder to call your mom

The ability to set and manage reminders through Google Home is rolling out now, though there are a few things to keep in mind.

From controlling shows and Walmart purchases to calling others, Google Home has become more useful since its initial launch. Smaller stuff like the ability to set reminders, however, was not something that Google‘s smart speaker was capable of doing until now.

Looking into the feature more granularly, you can set a variety of reminders, such as recurring and non-recurring time-based reminders. You can also check what reminders might be coming up and delete reminders, which can also be disabled through the Google Home app if you don’t want to use your voice.

The good news is that you will receive notifications for reminders set through Google Home on the rest of your devices. You can also set reminders through Google Home if more than one person uses the same Google Home.

There are a few things to keep in mind, the first being that the ability to set reminders is currently rolling out to everyone. If your Google Home does not yet support the feature, give it some time and that will change.

You also cannot set location-based reminders through Google Home, though that will eventually change. Finally, though the feature works with multi-user Google Home, it is only available in English for the time being.
