Original post: Google has announced a new video chatting application called Duo.

This simple one-to-one video app aims to make video chatting much easier no matter what platform you’re on, or how fast your data connection is. You can use your phone number to sign up, and starting a video chat is easy.

Perhaps the coolest thing about Duo is a feature called Knock Knock, which gives you a little preview of what to expect when you answer your call. So when someone gives you a call in Duo, you’ll actually get to see them through their front-facing camera before you pick up. Check out the video below to see it in action.

Duo will be available for Android and iOS later this summer.
