The Google app could soon get a cleaner, more organized settings page, and here's your first look

- Google is working on a redesigned settings page for the Google app.
- It could switch to a card-based layout instead of the list layout it currently uses.
- The redesign could also bring some buried settings to the main settings screen for quicker access.
Google has a settings page problem across most of its apps: there are simply too many options in each one. That results in a settings page that is far more convoluted than users would like. Fortunately, the company seems to be taking note. Last month, we spotted Google working on a redesigned settings page in Gemini, and now it seems the company is trying to fix the Google app’s settings page as well.

While digging through the latest version of the Google app (v17.64.13), we found evidence of a redesign of the settings page in the works. Currently, the Google app’s settings page has a simple, straightforward layout. However, with the upcoming redesign, Google could switch to a card-based layout, grouping similar settings into cards and using labels to organize each card into categories such as “Your App Experience,” “Privacy & Safety,” and more.
The redesigned settings page aligns more closely with Google’s Material 3 Expressive design language. It could also bring some previously buried settings to the main settings screen. Settings for “Search personalization,” “SafeSearch,” and “Results about you” are displayed front and center on the upcoming settings page. Right now, these settings are buried inside the “Privacy & Safety” section.
This redesigned settings page still differs from the one we saw Google working on for the Gemini app. It is unclear whether this is intentional or simply Google’s inability to decide on a unified design style for its apps.
This new settings page UI hasn’t rolled out yet, and there is no way to tell when it will. We will keep an eye out for further changes and update you when we learn more.
