For those of you that were lucky enough to play The Walking Dead from Telltale games, you probably already know what the company is capable of doing when it comes to making great games in general, and for mobile devices. The game was not only one of the best games I ever played on a mobile device, but also one of the most surprisingly enjoyable games I have ever played… period. So when Telltale recently spilled the beans about their upcoming Game of Thrones game, I naturally got excited. For whatever reason though, it seems as if Android users may once again be very late arriving to the party when it’s released.
It’s been around a year since Telltale first announced that the game would arrive, but details since then have been few and far between. But a release is apparently getting closer, as Telltale recently provided the community with an update containing more information about the game. What we do know is that it will be released in 6 episodes, with the events of the game beginning around the end of season 3. The story will focus on the House of Forrester, with the game being played from 5 different perspectives. While we don’t have in depth details about the actual plot line (keep in mind that the Forresters haven’t appeared in the show), we do know that the actions you choose as one character can affect the rest of the house.
Telltale has now announced that Game of Thrones will be released for PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and iOS, with announcements on additional platforms coming later.
While Android wasn’t specifically mentioned, I can’t imagine that an Android release wouldn’t happen. With The Walking Dead game and a Game of Thrones Game, all Telltale needs to do to completely cement their legacy is release a Breaking Bad game and bundle all 3 together with a “Welcome to Addiction” warning label.
