Former HTCdesign chief joins Fitbit
It was only 11 days ago that HTC’s chief smartphone designer, Jonah Becker, announced he had left the Taiwanese manufacturer and we’ve now learnt that he has joined the wearable-fanatics at Fitbit. According to Engadget, Fitbit have snapped up HTC’s former design lead and Becker has taken up the newly created role of VP of Industrial Design at the fitness specialist.
Becker joined HTCwhen the manufacturer acquired One & Co, the design consultancy that he led (along with Scott Croyle and Claude Zellweger). One & Co was tasked with helping design HTC’s smartphones (and is rumoured to be where the name HTCOne came from). Scott Croyle (Becker’s predecessor at HTC) is now the VP Product and Design at Nextbit whilst Claude Zellweger continues to head up design efforts for HTC’s other connected products.

According to a statement from Fitbit, Becker should have no issues with fitting in at the fitness specialist as he had previously worked with other fitness companies including the likes of Adidas, Burton Snowboards, K2 Sports, Nike and The North Face when he worked for One & Co. If you happen to run into Becker, take a peek as he might be wearing Fitbit’s next wearable (and of course, do let us know if you spot it!)
