TL;DR
  • Renders and specs of the Fairphone 4 5G have leaked.
  • The phone may land with a new design, 48MP camera, and 6GB of RAM.

Thanks to a recent Wi-Fi Alliance certification, we know that a new Fairphone model is on the way. Now, key Fairphone 4 5G details have seemingly leaked, with renders and core specs in tow.

As reported by WinFuture, a Twitter user discovered listings with images of the Fairphone 4 5G on a Swiss product comparison site, giving us a general idea of the design and colorways on offer. For starters, the phones may be available in a dark gray or green. The phone packs a pretty hefty chin with a waterdrop notch and a triangular triple rear camera module at the rear. Interestingly, there’s no hint of a fingerprint sensor at the rear.

In terms of specs, the listings also give away a few details. The Fairphone 4 5G may pack a 6.3-inch display, but the resolution or panel technology is unknown for now. Internally, the phone is listed with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There’s also a pricier 256GB model. Finally, the rear camera array could be headlined by a 48MP primary sensor, possibly the same used on the Fairphone 3 Plus.

Fairphone 4 5G: Price and availability

The Fairphone line has become iconic for its repairability, but this could come at a cost. The listings point to a starting price of 639 Swiss francs (~$694) for the 128GB version. That would make the ~€588 Fairphone 4 5G a much steeper investment than the €469 (~$555) Fairphone 3 Plus. It’s worth keeping in mind that the listed price could be a placeholder, so take it with a pinch of salt for now.

Presumably, the Fairphone 4 5G will remain a Euro-centric release like its siblings, but it’s unclear when the phone will make its official debut.
