Disney Plus issues encountered by many users on launch day
If you have been dealing with Disney Plus issues today, rest assured you’re not alone. The long-awaited streaming service has been getting slammed with tons of users signing up to access it for the first time. As a result, many users have encountered issues with accessing content, streaming video, and more.
Disney Plus launched earlier this morning in the US. Large amounts of issues with the service started being reported just before 7 a.m. Eastern time, according to Downdetector. While the site showed reports from all parts of the US, many of them seemed to be clustered in the northeast section of the country.

As far as the Disney Plus issues themselves, we personally have encountered issues with logging into the service. Even when we were successful, we had problems with streaming certain content at times. We also encountered problems with the settings menu, specifically an inability to change our profile icon.
The truth is that we expected Disney Plus issues on the official launch day. It has become of the most anticipated entertainment launches of the year, streaming or otherwise. According to the analytics company Jumpshot (via Business Insider), the service already had 1.9 million US pre-orders before today. Also, there were likely tens of millions of Verizon Wireless unlimited subscribers that took advantage of the Disney Plus free year offer.
TechCrunch got a statement from a Disney spokesperson, who stated the launch “has exceeded our high expectations.” The statement added that the company is “working to quickly resolve the current user issue.”
