TL;DR
  • Oppo, vivo, HONOR, and Xiaomi have all confirmed that they will offer Dimensity 9000 phones.
  • OPPO and Redmi said the chip will be used in the Find X and Redmi K50 series respectively.

MediaTek announced the Dimensity 9000 SoC last month, showing a premium flagship chipset that’s looking mighty competitive with Qualcomm’s latest silicon. We didn’t hear much about brands and phones that will offer the chipset at the time, but the firm has now revealed a few more details.

The company confirmed that OPPO, vivo, Xiaomi, and HONOR would all offer smartphones with the new processor. It added that we can expect the first devices with the SoC in Q1 2022. vivo and HONOR didn’t give out any specific details regarding their use of the Dimensity 9000, but both OPPO and Xiaomi did.

Starting with OPPO, vice-president Henry Duan said the next Find X flagship would offer the new processor:

This is a premium device that brings together so many cutting-edge features in one device and we know users will be impressed with its breakthrough performance and outstanding energy efficiency.

We’re guessing this is the standard OPPO Find X4 or another variant rather than the Find X4 Pro. After all, the company offered the top-end Snapdragon chipset in the Find X3 Pro earlier this year but used the Snapdragon 870 inside the standard model.

Meanwhile, Redmi general manager Lu Weibing confirmed that the upcoming Redmi K50 family would gain a Dimensity 9000 entry too:

With the overall improvements that the Dimensity 9000 platform brings to the table, and being an indispensable part of our Redmi K50 series, users can expect to see a noticeable, upgraded performance in our upcoming devices.

It’s unclear which Redmi K50 phones would use the new SoC, but the K40 series saw the standard model equipped with the Snapdragon 870 while the Pro and Pro Plus variants used the Snapdragon 888.

In any event, the Dimensity 9000 is equipped with a powerful CPU layout on paper (one Cortex-X2 core, three Cortex-A710 cores, and four Cortex-A510 cores), a Mali-G710 MC10 GPU, and an ISP capable of 8K recording and 320MP single camera support. So any phones released with this SoC will definitely be flagship-level.
