Dell has been cooking up gaming laptops for a while now, with its G15 and G16 series being its bread and butter while the Alienware M and X series offers higher-end goods. Now, the company has indeed announced new G series and Alienware M/X series laptops as part of CES 2023.

Starting with the G15 series, this is one of the more popular mainstream gaming notebook propositions on the market. The new G15 brings a 15.6-inch FHD 120Hz or 165Hz panel (16:9), 13th gen Intel Core processors (Core i5 13450HX to Core i9 13900HX), NVIDIA Geforce RTX 40 series graphics, 8GB to 32GB of RAM, and 256GB to 2TB of NVMe storage. The company is also letting you choose between a 56WHr or 86WHr battery.

Dell is also bringing plenty of connections here, namely an HDMI 2.1 port, USB 3.2 port, USB-C port, an Ethernet port, and 3.5mm port. Other notable features include Wi-Fi 6 integration, a 720p webcam, and a spill-resistant keyboard.

Meanwhile, the Dell G16 ups the ante in several key areas. For one, you’re getting a 2,560 x 1,600 screen here with a 16:10 display ratio as opposed to the G15’s FHD 16:9 panel.  Furthermore, you can choose between a panel with a 165Hz or 240Hz refresh rate.

The G16 also brings 13th gen Intel Core processors (Core i5 13450HX to Core i9 13900HX), “next-gen” NVIDIA Geforce RTX 40 graphics, 8GB to 32GB of RAM, 256GB to 2TB of NVMe storage, and 56WHr or 86WHr batteries.

Much like the G15, the G16 also brings a variety of connections. This includes an HDMI 2.1 port, USB 3.2 port, USB-C port, Ethernet connection, 3.5mm port, and Thunderbolt 4 (the latter on the RTX 4070 model only).

Want a little more oomph and gaming credentials? That’s where these latest Alienware M series laptops come in. Both notebooks give you your choice of 13th gen Intel Core CPUs or AMD Ryzen CPUs, and NVIDIA Geforce RTX 40 series or AMD Radeon graphics. In saying so, the spec sheets for both laptops only confirm Intel CPUs and NVIDIA graphics.

Nevertheless, the M18 also brings your choice of 18-inch screen (QHD+ 165Hz or FHD+ 480Hz), a 97WHr battery, 16GB to 64GB of RAM, and up to 9TB of NVMe storage (up to four SSDs).

The Alienware M16 and M18 laptops offer plenty of bells and whistles, as well as up to 9TB of storage.

Meanwhile, the M16 brings your choice of 16-inch panel (QHD+ 165Hz, QHD+ 240Hz, and FHD+ 480Hz), an 86WHr battery, 16GB to 64GB of RAM, and up to 9TB of NVMe storage.

The Alienware M18 also comes with a variety of ports, namely a 3.5mm port, an HDMI 2.1 port, three USB 3.2 ports, three USB-C ports (including two Thunderbolt 4), a mini DisplayPort, an Ethernet connection, and SD card slot. The M16 doesn’t quite reach these giddy heights but still ships with a 3.5mm port, an HDMI 2.1 out, two USB 3.2 ports, two USB-C ports (Thunderbolt 4), a mini-DisplayPort, an Ethernet port, and an SD card slot.

Both laptops also ship with a 720p webcam, Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6E.

Those on the hunt for a slim gaming laptop should keep the X14 R2 and X16 in mind. More specifically, Dell claims the X14 R2 is the world’s thinnest 14-inch gaming laptop at 14.5mm thin. Other meat and potato features include your choice of two Intel Core processors (13420H or 13620H) and your choice of three Geforce RTX GPUs (RTX 3050, 4050, 4060). Other noteworthy features include a 14-inch QHD+ 165Hz screen and an 80.5WHr battery.

Meanwhile, the X16 ups the ante with your choice of three Intel Core processors (13620H, 13700H, 13900H), Geforce GPU options ranging from the RTX 4050 to RTX 4090, and your choice of 16-inch screen. The latter choices are a QHD+ 165Hz panel, FHD+ 480Hz screen, and a QHD+ 240Hz display.

Both laptops come with 16GB to 32GB of soldered RAM, 256GB to 4TB NVMe storage, a 1080p webcam, Bluetooth 5.3, and Wi-Fi 6E. The two laptops also share several port options, namely a 3.5mm port, HDMI 2.1 output, microSD card slot, three USB-C ports (two Thunderbolt 4), and a single USB 3.2 port. But the X16 also gains a mini-DisplayPort option.
