How to change (or reset) your Amazon password

Please tell me your password isn't "Password."

Published onFebruary 24, 2023

Managing all of your online passwords can be a hassle. It’s a good practice to write them down and keep them somewhere safe, but there may come a time when you can’t find a particular password. The same can be said for stale passwords, which you should get into the routine of changing for security reasons. Amazon gives you the option to change or reset your password whenever you want. Let’s review how to change or reset your password on Amazon.

To change your Amazon password, go to the Your Account page. Click Login & security > Edit (next to the Password section). Enter your current password, then your new password twice. Click Save changes to finish.

How to reset your Amazon password

It happens. You go to log in on Amazon and you can’t remember your password. You also haven’t saved it to your Google account, or a password manager.

If you’re finding yourself in this situation, don’t worry. As long as you remember the login details for the email address linked to your Amazon account, you can reset your password. Let’s go over that right away.

To reset your Amazon password on a computer, go to the Amazon website and hover your cursor over the dropdown at the top. Begin the login process by clicking the Sign in button.
