Casio WSDF10 Watch 2

Although there’s plenty of utility that the average user can milk from a given smartwatch, there has been particular interest in these devices among the outdoor community. Runners, hikers, and explorers alike are all interested in the idea of being able to take their tech along for the journey, but as of yet, the rugged smartwatch market hasn’t really taken off in earnest. Casio is looking to establish a firm foothold in this area, however, with the release of the Smart Outdoor Watch WSD-F10: a gritty little wearable that’s ready to stand up to whatever abuse your active lifestyle puts it through.

Casio WSDF10 hands on

The smartwatch is slated to hit the market on March 25, and the price tag on the sturdy little Casio adventurer will be $500. If that cost makes you balk a bit, you should know that the Casio Smart Outdoor Watch WSD-F10 looks like one of the most sturdy smartwatches we’ve ever seen. Long-term adventurers will be thrilled about the 1.32-inch dual layer display’s ability to swap between color and monochrome to get a serious battery boost. It comes preloaded with an assortment of outdoorsy apps that focus on running, hiking, fishing, etc… but you can, of course, load it up with your preference of health trackers and workout apps.

This smartwatch will release through a number of online vendors including the Google Store, Amazon, REI Co-Op, and, of course, Casio.
