So how do you translate a mobile game that’s all about matching different candies in order to win points? According to the description that CBS offered, the upcoming game show will be going much bigger in order to deliver the goods:

In the series, the game that has become a worldwide phenomenon comes to life as teams of two people use their wits and physical agility to compete on enormous, interactive game boards featuring next generation technology to conquer CANDY CRUSH and be crowned the champions.

King, which was acquired by Activision nearly a year ago for $5.9 billion, will team up with production company Lionsgate for the Candy Crush series. It will be added to CBS’s lineup that already has The Price Is Right and Let’s Make a Deal in its weekday daytime schedule. CBS will name the host of the game show at a later date. There’s no word on when the show will make its debut.

The original Candy Crush game launched as a browser-based title in 2012 before launching as a mobile game later that year, with the name Candy Crush Saga. It has grown to become one of the most popular mobile games ever made, with King claiming it sees 18 billion game rounds per month. It has also spawn two spin-off games, Candy Crush Soda Saga and Candy Crush Jelly Saga.
