You know a company is really trying to push a service to succeed when they start throwing no-strings-attached money at people just to give it a try. Right now, Amazon wants you to start downloading apps from their store so badly that they’re willing to give you $5 of credit when you download any eligible $3 title. This $5 credit works across the entire site, and all of the apps on this list cost the same price or more in the Google Play Store. Honestly, there’s not any reason not to try this.

What apps are eligible, you may ask? Most of them are games, but there are a couple of non-playful outliers. Kingdom Rush Origins tops the list, and you can also grab Ticket to Ride. Pac-Man HD for very un-spooky ghosts, Five Nights at Freddy’s 4 for some more high-octane spookiness. Photo Lab PRO is also on the list, as is Relax Melodies Premium, a white noise meditation app. All run for $3, and buying any of them will put $5 in your hand.

Before you start thinking of grabbing all of these apps to scoop up a king’s ransom of $12, you sadly cap out at five bucks on this deal. The offer lasts until March 31, 2016, but you can’t let this credit sit in your Amazon account forever, because the promotional credit expires a week later on April 7, 2016.

What do you think of Amazon’s push to get more users to try their service over the Google Play Store? Worth checking out for the free moolah, or are you going to give it a pass? Let us know in the comments below. Also, it’s uncertain whether this promo is regionally specific, so if you’re outside of the US, tell us if the offer is working for you.
