BOOX debuts three new E-Ink tablets, including a pair of stylus-equipped Note models

One of the countless reasons we love books so much is that there’s just so many of them — no matter what you’re into, chances are you’ll be able to find something you really like. And just as we all have our favorite books, not everyone’s going to love the same e-reader. That’s fine, too, and in addition to all the great options already available, manufacturers are coming out with new ones all the time. That’s just what BOOX is up to today, refreshing its lineup with a trio of new E-Ink tablets.

Note Air6 C

First up, we’ve got a new model for those of you who like big, color screens and stylus support for annotations: the BOOX Note Air6 C.

The 10.3-inch Kaleido 3 screen offers a resolution of 2480 x 1860 in monochrome or 1240 x 930 in color, and delivers what BOOX says is its fastest screen refresh yet. That’s helped out by a faster new processor, delivering a 45% speed bump over last generation. In color mode, the tablet supports 4,096 shades, and there’s a dual-tone front light for reading in dimmer environments.

With the BOOX Pen3 stylus, you can take notes and draw with support for 4,096 pressure levels. And if you get tired of pen input, you can always attach its keyboard folio case.

Because this is an Android 16 device, you’ve got access to all your Play Store apps, and the 3,700mAh battery should keep things running for a while — especially with this power-efficient display. The unit weighs about 430g and measures just 5.8mm thin.

This one’s available right now through BOOX itself or the company’s Amazon page, priced at about $580.

Note Mini C

If you don’t need a tablet quite that big, consider the new Note Mini C. This 8.52-inch model still offers a Kaleido 3 screen with 4,096 colors and dual-tone front light. It’s still got Android 16 to make it nice and versatile, and like the Air6 C, is powered by a 4nm octa-core SoC running at up to 2.9GHz.

Once again, you can annotate your e-books to your heart’s content, this time with the included BOOX InSight magnetic active stylus. The compact tablet weighs roughly 300g and measures a mere 6mm thick.

While sales of this one aren’t open quite yet, you can look forward to grabbing a Note Mini C for around $580 once they finally begin.

Palma 3

Finally, we’re checking out the latest entry in the BOOX Palma series of pocket-friendly e-readers, the Palma 3. If you’re looking for something a little more robust than those little Xteink models, this could be right up your alley.

With Android 16 and a 6.13-inch screen, the Palma 3 may give off phone vibes (there’s even a 16MP rear camera if you need to grab a pic of anything), but the monochrome display (again with that dual-tone front light) is definitely going to feel more at home with your books than your favorite apps.

For this new model, BOOX finally gives the Palma a solid aluminum frame, and combined with a paper-textured fiberglass backplate, this one sounds like it should be a lot of fun to hold.

The e-reader measures 159 x 78 x 7.8mm and tips the scales at 198g. Sales are scheduled to open soon, when the Palma 3 will fetch right about $340.
