Readers vote this Android phone as the best with microSD storage
Oct 8, 2026 — 3:06 AM ET
If you’re shopping for a phone with a microSD card slot in 2026, it’s safe to say that your options are rather limited. It’s even tighter if you only look for devices in the upper echelons of the Android market — few flagships offer expandable storage.
However, this isn’t to say that there are absolutely no options for those who want hot-swappable card support, and those that do exist come from established Android brands. The biggest question is, which is the best Android phone with a microSD card that you can buy?
We offered our thoughts in a recent feature, but we also wanted to know what our readers thought. So, we ran a poll, you answered, and the results can be viewed below.

This poll received just over 1,500 votes spread across the six smartphone options from Samsung, Motorola, Sony, and TCL.
The winner of the poll, with over a quarter of the vote (25.9%) and our readers’ choice for the best Android phone with a microSD card slot in 2026, is a mid-range Samsung — specifically, the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G.

The A55 topping this list is perhaps a surprise, given that the phone didn’t launch in the US and only received a 7/10 in our review. It may be a middling Samsung device, but readers likely value its current affordability, balanced specs sheet, and continued software support.
Coming in close behind is the far newer Motorola G Stylus (2026), with 23.7% of the vote. It’s pricier than the Samsung but does include a 3.5mm headphone jack and a stylus, giving it far more general utility than the Galaxy A55.
Sony’s Xperia 10 VII racked up 22.4% of the vote, and like the Moto G Stylus, it packs a 3.5mm headphone jack. However, its compact 6.1-inch display helps it stand out among the larger devices on this list.
The three remaining devices garnered a combined 28% of the vote, but neither received more than 10% on its own. The cheap Moto G Power (2025) garnered 9.9% of respondents’ support, followed by the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G with 9.3%, and the quirky TCL NXTPAPER 70 Pro with 8.8%.
Which Android phone with a microSD card slot would you buy? Do you think manufacturers should launch more devices with expandable storage? Let’s discuss in the comments below.
