BBC iPlayer Radio tablet

BBC radio is practically considered a British institution by some, and although the BBC published a separate iPlayer Radio app for listeners quite a while ago, the broadcaster is doing one better for tablet users with a new dedicated app.

The new app, designed specifically for tablets, makes use of a larger display through improved navigation, categories, and more detailed programming information to help you keep up to date with your favourite shows. The app also works in both portrait and landscape modes.

It is worth noting that the tablet app come with a “work-in-progress” label, so there are probably one or two lingering bugs to contend with. As well as polishing up the app, the BBC also plans to incorporate Favourites and Playlister features in the near future. Playlister can be used to transfer your latest discoveries over to other services, such as Spotify.

The BBC has released its tablet app to both the Google Play and Amazon stores, which is useful if you are using a Kindle, along with a version for iPad users too.
