ASUS launches three selfie-focused smartphones in Zenfone 4 series in India

In a press conference in New Delhi, Asus has announced the launch of its new smartphones as part of the Zenfone 4 series which was unveiled at an event in Taipei last month.

While a total of six smartphones – Zenfone 4, Zenfone 4 Pro, Zenfone 4 Max, Zenfone 4 Max Pro, and Zenfone 4 Selfie (two variants) – were announced in Taipei, ASUS has only launched three selfie-focused smartphones in India today.

At the launch, ASUS also announced that all the smartphones in the Zenfone 4, as well as Zenfone 3, series will receive the Android Oreo update – although no timeline for the same was shared.

Zenfone 4 Selfie

The Zenfone 4 Selfie comes in two variants, with one of them sporting dual front-facing cameras. Apart from front and rear camera setup, the dual-camera variant also packs in more memory (4 GB + 64 GB as against 3 GB + 32 GB). Globally, Zenfone 4 Selfie with single camera on the front has been launched in India first.

Available in three color variants- Sunlight Gold, Rose Pink, and Deepsea Black – the ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie will be available at a price of ₹9,999 ($156), while the ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie (Dual camera version) will be available at ₹14,999 ($234). The latter will be available for ₹13,999 during Flipkart’s upcoming ‘Big Billion Day’ promotions.

Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro

The Pro variant of the Zenfone 4 Selfie shoots 4K video via the front facing cameras and produces HDR selfies. It packs in a 12 MP + 12 MP camera with Sony IMX362 dual pixel image sensor. The company claims that the Selfie Pro captures ‘2X brighter and clearer selfies’ in low light.

Available in three color variants – Rogue Red, Sunlight Gold, and Deepsea Black – the ASUS Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro is priced at ₹23,999 ($374).
