Asus' new Xbox controller rocks an OLED display and tri-mode connectivity
- ASUS has announced an officially licensed Xbox controller that can connect via Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz RF, or USB-C.
- It also features a 1.3-inch OLED display, customizable buttons, and a circular D-pad.
Asus’ Republic of Gamers (ROG) has launched a new officially licensed Xbox controller with an OLED display. It is the first of its kind to feature “tri-mode” connectivity allowing it to connect via Bluetooth, 2.4 GHz RF, or USB-C.
Called the ROG Raikiri Pro, the controller features a 1.3-inch OLED screen that can display custom animations, battery levels, microphone status, and more.
There are two small buttons on the top to help players switch profiles during games. The controller also features a circular D-pad and four left and right programmable rear buttons. The rest of the setup is pretty standard for an Xbox controller. You get colored ABXY buttons, two sticks, and a home button in the center.
ASUS offers extensive customization with its Armory Crate PC app. You can use it to remap buttons, change joystick sensitivity, or make other adjustments via Armoury Crate.
While the Raikiri Pro is a licensed Xbox controller, ASUS is marketing it as a pro PC controller. It only connects to the Xbox Series X/S consoles using USB-C cable.
ASUS hasn’t announced the price of the controller yet, but it’s set to launch sometime in the second quarter of 2023.
