Your free year of Apple TV Plus may have been extended
Update: There’s more good news for Apple TV Plus subscribers who got a free year-long trial by buying new Apple hardware. 9to5Mac reports that those folks that were supposed to see that trial end between February to June 2021 won’t have to pay anything until their July 2021 pay period. That means people who took advantage of the free year trial offer way back in November 2019 when it first started will get an additional nine months of Apple TV Plus for free.
Also, annual Apple TV Plus subscriptions that were scheduled to end between February and June will get those same months for free as well. People who sign up for the $4.99 monthly fee as of today will get $4.99 in Apple store credit every month until June.
Original story: Many early Apple TV Plus users would soon be nearing the end of their year-long free trial by now. However, there’s some good news from Apple for many of these early adopters.
According to TechCrunch, users who bought new hardware from Apple between November 1, 2019 through January 31, 2020, and then signed up for the free year of Apple TV Plus, now won’t be charged until their February 2021 billing period. That means for some users, they will get as much as three extra free months of Apple TV Plus. If you paid for a yearly plan during that same time period, you will still get those same months or days for free.

If you signed up, or plan to sign up, for the $4.99 monthly Apple TV Plus plan before November 1, 2020, you will get a $4.99 credit during November-December 2020 and January 2021. That could cause a lot of folks who have yet to check out the service to sign up before the end of October. The article also confirmed Apple will continue to offer the free year of Apple TV Plus for anyone who buys a new Apple hardware product.
The Apple TV Plus extended free offer will make a lot of people happy. Most of the major movies that were due in theaters in 2020 have now been delayed into 2021, or even longer, due to the coronavirus outbreak. If you’re an Apple TV Plus user and are wondering what to watch, we’ve got you covered.
