There's no word on a timeline for this bug-fixing update, but at least it's not a hardware problem.

TL;DR
  • Apple has reportedly confirmed an iPhone 14 Pro display issue.
  • The issue sees horizontal lines appearing on iPhone 14 Pro series screens.
  • The company apparently noted that a software fix is coming.

Some iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max users reported seeing horizontal lines on their displays when turning on the devices. Now, it looks like Apple has confirmed the issue internally.

Reports of the display issue emerged shortly after the iPhone 14 series launch, and it only seems to have affected the Pro models (see the image below via Redditor 1LastOutlaw). There was no word on whether this was a hardware defect or simply a software bug. Fortunately, MacRumors has obtained an internal memo that clears things up.

“Apple is aware of the issue and a software update is coming soon that will resolve the issue,” reads an excerpt of the memo. Furthermore, the note also confirms that this issue only occurs when turning the device on or unlocking it.
