Shop on Amazon from your Android Wear smartwatch
If you happen to own an Android Wear device and are known to make a purchase or two (or twenty) from your phone while waiting on the bus in the morning, then you may want to be careful with this, as you can now make all the Amazon purchases your heart desires directly from your watch.
Thanks to an update to Amazon’s Android app, owners can now “search for products, buy with 1-click or add products to (your) wish list” without even needing to pull out their phone or be near a computer. The option is currently limited to US customers and requires Android 4.3 and up (and yes… Android Lollipop support is there).
Official changelog as per the Play Store page:
- Includes the Amazon app for Android Wear. Customers with Android 4.3 and above in the US with an Android Wear watch can use their voice to search, buy and save shopping ideas to their Wish List. Just say “Start Amazon” from your Wear watch.
- Android Lollipop support.
- Bug fixes and improvements.
- I don’t currently own any Android Wear, and while I’m not personally sure how easy/convenient it would be to order from a watch, it’s interesting to see how Amazon and Google are looking to take “ease of shopping” to an entirely new level.
Could you see yourself buying from Amazon directly from your watch?
