We already knew Android Developer Preview DP2 was just around the corner, but it’s finally here! You can enroll in the new public Android Beta starting now.

With Android Beta you don’t have to manually install anything, all you need is a compatible device. In addition to the entire Pixel family, Google is now letting more manufacturers in on the action. The following third-party handsets will support Android Beta: Sony Xperia XZ2, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, Nokia 7 Plus, OPPO R15 Pro, vivo X21, OnePlus 6, and Essential PH‑1.

Update: We have learned that the versions of Android P DP2 found on the 3rd party devices above isn’t stock Android. This includes the full skins and custom apps that you’d get from a commercial release of Android P on these phones. Considering how long it’s taken in the past to get non-stock Android updated, this is a testament to just how important Project Treble is.

While the files needed to sideload aren’t available just yet, we will be sure to let you know as soon as they are. Keep in mind Android P DP2 is still an early build. In other words, we don’t recommend using it on your daily driver.
