Update: Google has announced that the consumer-ready version of Android 7.0 Nougat will begin rolling out to Nexus devices starting today. Google says the Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C and General Mobile 4G (Android One) will receive the over-the-air update over the next few weeks, while only a few Nexus owners will receive the OTA from today. Of course, you’ll be able to manually update by flashing the system image starting today.

This final version of Android 7 won’t bring many new changes that we didn’t already see in the Developer Previews. It’s basically a much more stable version of Developer Preview 5, which isn’t a bad thing at all.

We will continue to update this post as we learn more details.

Google has just set live the official Android Nougat site, where you can see all the features that will launch with the next major version of Android.

As of right now there aren’t any new details regarding the release, and we’re still awaiting factory images and an official announcement from Google. We’ll be sure to update this post as more details trickle in.
