(Update: Nexus 9 LTE follows suit) Android 7.0 Nougat finally comes to the Nexus 6
Update, October 6: Nexus 9 LTE owners can check their tablets for an update to Android 7.0 Nougat. Unlike the Nexus 6 below, the Nougat update for the Nexus 9 LTE packs the September security update. The OTA image for the update (NRD90R) is available on Google’s OTA image repository. No factory image is available yet.
Original post, October 3: Nexus 6 owners have seen an unfortunate delay when it comes to the Android 7.0 Nougat update, but we were recently promised the new software “in the coming weeks” and now it’s time for the 2-year-old Google phone to take the stage.
Google has put the Android 7.0 Nougat factory images and OTA update online, and plenty of online reports claim Nougat is already hitting Nexus 6 devices all over the world.

In addition to the latest Android version, this update brings the latest security patch (October’s). The whole file weighs over 850 MB, so be ready for a heavy download and lengthy waiting time.
Now all you have to do is wait for your specific device to get the update. As always, these tend to roll out periodically, so just be patient and wait around if you haven’t gotten the notification yet. Otherwise, you can go ahead and download the update image and install it manually.
Sadly, there are no news on the Nexus 9 LTE update, which was promised along with this one. It should be coming soon, though! How many of you have gotten the update already?
