Amazon just announced the cheapest annual Prime Video plan ever in this country
- Amazon has announced its cheapest Prime Video annual plan in India.
- It’s called the Prime Video Mobile Edition plan and costs just Rs 599 (~$7.2).
When streaming services across the board are raising prices, Amazon just announced its cheapest annual Prime Video plan. Called the Prime Video Mobile Edition plan, the new subscription is now on offer in India at just Rs 599 (~$7.2) per year.
Users in India can sign up for the Prime Video Mobile Edition plan through the Prime Video app on Android or the Prime Video website. It looks like the plan isn’t available to iOS users just yet.
“Created especially for a mobile-first country like India, Prime Video Mobile Edition is a major step towards making premium entertainment across languages as ubiquitous as smartphones in the country,” Amazon noted in a press release shared with Android Authority.
So what does the plan include? Well, since it’s a mobile-only plan, subscribers will be restricted to streaming content in Standard Definition (SD) quality. The good news is that you’ll still be able to download Prime Video shows and movies for offline viewing.
Another restriction of the new plan is that it’ll be restricted to a single device. That means you cannot share your streaming plan with other family members or friends.
