Sony‘s upcoming Xperia Z4 flagship may be grabbing headlines as of late, but there may be yet another Sony handset on the horizon. The device is called the Xperia C4 (codenamed Cosmos), and according to some alleged images, will feature a very prominent front-facing camera. Multiple renders and prototypes of the device have leaked out in the past few weeks, but now popular smartphone leaker @upleaks is back with another prototype image.
As a followup to last year’s C3 handset which Sony claimed was “the world’s best selfie smartphone”, judging by the image, the C4 will feature a similar design. Other than the software, large front-facing camera and LED flash, not much of the device seems to differentiate itself from past Sony handsets.
The popular leaker also suggests that the Xperia C4 will carry the model number E53XX, which fits in with Sony’s past model number trends. Other than the few details we’ve outlined here, not much other information has been leaked about the device. Other than the possible release date of a May-June timeframe, the majority of its internals are still somewhat of a mystery. Given the mid-range specifications of the C3, this new device likely won’t launch as a flagship level handset.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated as we hear more about this new device.
