Alcatel Google Assistant capable KaiOS fliphone

Earlier this year, Google announced that Google Assistant was coming to KaiOS devices. Today, Alcatel announced that one of its latest KaiOS flip phones supports Google Assistant, and it is coming to the United States.

The device is called the Go Flip 3 on T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile, and it is called the SmartFlip on AT&T and Cricket Wireless. Other than the name, the device is exactly the same.

On the surface, it looks like any other feature phone. But, according to Engadget, what sets really sets this Alcatel device apart from other KaiOS devices is the quad-core processor and 4G LTE bands that support Google Assistant.

The user will be able to make calls, dictate messages, and download apps all using their voice. Though KaiOS doesn’t come with the Google Play Store, you will still be able to use Google Assistant to download apps like WhatsApp and Twitter from the KaiStore.

The Go Flip 3/SmartFlip will also sport a 2MP rear-facing camera, a 2.8-inch display, Bluetooth 4.2, a headphone jack, and monster battery performance rated at almost 18 days. It will also come preloaded with the usual productivity apps like calendar, email, and messages.
