Android Authority On Air – Episode 27 – IFA 2012 Recap

If you don’t know what IFA 2012 is, that’s ok. All you need to know is that it’s similar to CES…but in Berlin. It’s an extremely large electronics show. And, like any electronics show in this day and age, it’s littered with tons of mobile devices and gadgets. Of course we had to be there, check out our hands on devices reviews  from IFA 2012. Naturally, this week on the show we talked about a few popular ones such as the Samsung Galaxy Note II, the Samsung Galaxy Camera, the Archos GamePad (it runs Android) and a few others.

Huawei D1 Quad is on its way, half a year late to the party

The Huawei Ascend D1 Quad is an impressive device, to say the least. It has a Huawei-made quad processor running at 1.5GHz and hit the Mobile World Congress with quite a splash. It was supposed to arrive on scene in the first half of 2012 to take the world by storm. But unfortunately, developing the K3V2 quad-core processor apparently was a lot more work than the company thought it would be, and they ran into several delays along the way. It's now September 3rd and finally the time for the D1 Quad has come to IFA, with plans to arrive this year -- way later than originally expected.

Black Galaxy S3 LTE with Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean spotted at IFA 2012 [video]

A couple of days ago we told you that Samsung confirmed at IFA 2012 that the Galaxy S3, alongside the Galaxy Note 10.1 and Galaxy Note, will receive their Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean updates “very soon,” without specifying any roll out date.

Previous rumors have led us to believe that the international Galaxy S3 LTE version will be the first to run Jelly Bean and it looks like an unexpected report from Germany confirms it.

The short video below has been recorded at Vodafone’s booth, where a Black Galaxy S3 model has been spotted running Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. The model will apparently be available in the region in the near future and [...]

HTC Desire X launched as a budget 4-incher with ICS and dual-core S4 chip
