OnePlus has just announced that SwiftKey Keyboard, one of the most popular third party keyboards on Android, is going to come pre-installed on the OnePlus One in the phone’s next update to CyanogenMod 11S. Once you install the update on your One, all you need to do is select SwiftKey from the Language and Input menu under Settings.

Eric Collins, SwiftKey’s head of distribution, says:

We want OnePlus customers to enjoy all the fun of faster, easier typing from a keyboard that learns from them. It’s our mission to make it easier for everyone to type and communicate on mobile, and we’re proud to partner with an industry disruptor to bring our innovative smart keyboard to more people around the world.

SwiftKey used to be sold in the Google Play Store for a one-off price of a few dollars. If you can recall back to last June, the company made the keyboard free to download from the Play Store, only to up the prices of their premium theme packs. So, a keyboard that you can download from Google Play for free will now come pre-installed on your device, whether you like it or not. Don’t get us wrong, we love SwiftKey. But this deal would be even better if SwiftKey was still being offered for a premium price in the Play Store.

The new update will roll out to the One sometime this month.
