Opera Max is getting a pretty nice update that will bring a number of handy features to the app. Most notably in this update is the addition of Smart Alerts, which will allow the app to notify you when an unused app is using too much data in the background. Additionally, you can now access the Background Usage menu from within the App Management tab.

There’s also a new application icon that brings a more modern look to the app. If you’re interested, here’s the full changelog for the new update:

  • Smart Alerts to help manage sneaky background data usage by unused apps
  • Background Usage access section in App Management
  • New Opera Max icon: a crisp and modern design
  • App launcher onboarding, for a better user experience

Opera Max is not a browser. It’s made by the same people behind Opera and Opera Mini, yes, but it is not a browser. It is a data saving VPN. Please research before reporting.
