Just a few hours ago OnePlus announced its new affordable Android handset, the OnePlus X. Not only does the X seem like a pretty decent mid-tier smartphone so far, the big news here is its low $249 price point. Even though you’ll still need to purchase the phone with an invite (well, sort of), $249 is one heck of a deal for this device.

Low price points seem to be the theme with OnePlus as of late, as the company has just announced a new pair of earphones called the OnePlus Icons. The Icons are in-ear headphones that feature a 51-degree angle design to help better fit in your ear, and they also come with three different sizes of silicone ear tips to suit your needs. As for the earphones’ specs, they come with 11mm dynamic drivers and feature a three-chamber design that OnePlus says will help to change the intensity of low-frequency sound.

OnePlus X hands-on and first impressions!

To show you just what these earphones can do, OnePlus did a blind sound test with a few random folks at the Helsinki Music Center in Finland. The company put the Icons up against a pair of €100 and €300 earphones, and the results, unsurprisingly, came out in the Icons’ favor. Take a look at the video below to see for yourself.

The OnePlus Icons will be available sometime in the near future for just €49.99, which seems to be a pretty low price for what they’re offering. OnePlus hasn’t told us when we can expect sales of the Icons to go live, but we’ll be sure to let you know once they do.
