Olympic Games Edition of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge formally announced

Fans of the Olympics and Samsung devices rejoice! The Korean tech titan has formally unveiled their limited Olympic Games Edition of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. These devices will come subtly festooned with the classic Google-esque colors of the Olympics, and emblazoned on the back will be the traditional Olympic Games insignia. These interlocking rings will also appear scattered throughout the phone’s software, so you can expect to see it pop up on your home screen, lock screen, contacts, and so on.

These devices are slated to see a limited release in the United States exclusively through Best Buy starting July 18th. We’ll also be seeing them in South Korea, Germany, and China. These Olympian offerings bring a subtly different aesthetic to the line, but we don’t yet have word regarding a price tag. It’s worth noting that if this years Games get cancelled, which is expected by some, then these devices have the potential to become quite the collector’s item.

Samsung has revealed that every participant in the Olympic Games will be slated to receive one of these devices. As icing on the cake, these competitors will also be getting a pair of Gear IconX headphones (worth $200) as icing on the cake.
