Following last month’s teaser, the high-end Motorola Droid Turbo launched in India today. However, its name has changed ever so slightly to the Moto Turbo.

The Moto Turbo will retail exclusively through Flipkart, just like other Motorola handsets sold in India. Pre-orders have begun today and will ship out in the third week of March. Today only, Motorola will be giving the handset away to 25 lucky customers for free, through a 100 percent cash back scheme. American Express card users can also save 10 percent off the retail price.

Despite the name change, the specifications remain the same as before. The Moto Turbo features a 5.2-inch QHD (2560×1440) AMOLED display, high-end 2.7GHz Snapdragon 805 processing package, 3GB of RAM, a 21MP rear facing camera and 64GB of internal memory. The handset also features a mammoth 3,900mAh battery, Category 4 LTE connectivity, and the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS out of the box. The Moto Turbo is available for pre-orders through FlipKart for Rs. 41,999 ($670) and can be bought in either Ballistic Nylon or Kevlar Fiber case options.
