Fed up with unsatisfactory battery life? Well, the newly announced mid-range Lenovo P70 should certainly last you through the day with its huge 4,000mAh battery. The handset also boasts an impressive standby time of 32 days on a 2G network and over 30 days when connected to 4G.

To help keep the power consumption reasonable, the Lenovo P70 packs in some familiar mid-range hardware. The 5-inch IPS display has a resolution of 720p and the SoC is a MediaTek MT6752, which features eight energy efficient ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7GHz. The smartphone also comes equipped with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, a microSD card slot, 13MP rear camera with flash, 5MP front facing camera, and dual-SIM compatibility. Not forgetting the 4,000mAh battery too.

Fortunately, the huge battery hasn’t had much of an impact on the thickness of weight of the P70. The smartphone has dimensions of 142 x 71.8 x 8.9 mm and a weight of 149g, so it’s no heavier than the slightly larger LG G3.

As for connectivity, the MT6752 is equipped with Category 4 (up to 150Mbps download) dual-mode LTE modem for FDD & TDD, DC-HSPA+ and TD-SCDMA networks. There is also the usual assortment of Bluetooth 4.0, Wifi 802.11 b/g/n, radio, and GPS functionality.

The handset is currently only available in China for a price of 1,399 Yuan (around $220 or €198). There’s no word on if or when the P70 will début outside of the region, but hopefully big batteries will catch on soon.
