There’s no dearth of smart locks in the market right now, but the all-new Kwikset Halo Touch smart lock stands out with its robust feature set. Launched at CES 2020, the Kwikset Halo Touch is a $249 Wi-Fi smart lock that integrates nice-to-have features like voice assistant integration with all

The Halo Touch can be operated using a fingerprint, a key, or the Kwikset app. It can register up to 50 users and a maximum of 100 fingerprints which should be more than enough for all your household members to have physical access. Meanwhile, the Kwikset app (Android and iOS) allows homeowners to remotely monitor and control the lock from anywhere in the world.

Kwikset’s Wi-Fi smart lock is pretty similar to the Google-backed Nest x Yale smart lock. Just like it, the Halo Touch features voice controls using Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa which lets you conveniently check the status of the device and lock it using voice commands.

Unlike some of the competition, the Kwikset doesn’t require an additional hub. Instead, it can connect directly to your existing WiFi network to enable smart functionality. All you need is a Wi-Fi router, a smartphone, the Halo Touch smart lock, and you’re ready to go!

The company claims that the lock protects against common and forced entry break-in methods like lock picking, lock bumping and torque attacks. The company’s SmartKey security also allows homeowners to re-key their locks quickly and easily; rendering lost, loaned or unreturned keys useless.

The Halo Touch smart lock will be available online this year at HomeDepot, Lowes, Amazon and Build. It is priced quite competitively at $249. The Kwikset Halo Touch smart lock will launch in traditional and contemporary styling with three finish options, Satin Nickel, Venetian Bronze (traditional only) and Iron Black (contemporary only).
