Robinson Cano smashes HTC's competition (literally) in new ad

HTC has released a new ad starring Robinson Cano, in which the baseball player beats the heck out of some of the offerings from HTC's competitors.

HTC hasn’t exactly had it easy the last few years. Once one of the great kings of mobile, HTChas had to work hard to regain some of its following, and while the HTC One (m7) and One M8 have certainly helped the situation, the path ahead continues to be rocky. With the One M9, HTCcontinues with its premium-focused strategy, though the very familiar design of the phone has been meet with relatively mixed reception.

If HTCreally wants 2015 to be the year it rises back to the top, it will need to carefully market the One M9 and its other 2015 devices. After all, offering good devices is only half the battle, and it’s arguably marketing that truly makes or breaks a device. Unfortunately, HTChas done little to convince folks to buy the HTCOne M9 so far. Instead, a series of shorts starring Robert Downey Junior really didn’t talk about the phone at all, and a new video starring Robinson Cano continues this trend.

If HTCreally wants 2015 to be the year it rises back to the top, it will need to carefully market the One M9 and its other 2015 devices.

Cano was officially brought on as a “brand ambassador” for HTC back in November, but this new video has the baseball player smashing the heck out of devices from LG, Apple, and Samsung with his bat. While not a horrible video, depending on your tastes, it would still be nice to see an HTCad that actually stars the HTCOne M9 and tells consumers why they should be buying.
