If you’ve been itching to play a new Final Fantasy game, your wait is almost over. Final Fantasy: Record Keeper is the next big game in the franchise, and it looks like it won’t disappoint. Record Keeper is a mash-up of many other games from the FF franchise, bringing together multiple different characters and villains including Tidus, Lightning, Cloud and many others. The SNES-style game will be free at launch, and will offer a number of in-app purchases within the game.

Just like every other Final Fantasy game, Record Keeper will be centered around the popular Active Time Battle (ATB) gameplay. The aim of the game is to battle your way through “the most epic Final Fantasy moments”, by means of spells, summons and hundreds of different weapons. Here’s the full description of what Record Keeper will bring to the table:

In FINAL FANTASY: Record Keeper, the entire FINAL FANTASY universe is at player’s fingertips! Featuring an all-star cast of characters including Tidus, Lightning, and Cloud, players recruit their favorite heroes from across the entire FINAL FANTASY franchise to form the most dynamic team of all time. With a massive roster of characters, the possibilities are endless! Characters can each be completely customized and equipped to the fullest with iconic gear, powerful spells, summons, and hundreds of weapons to choose from.
Gameplay in FINAL FANTASY: Record Keeper is as strategic and challenging as ever with the classic FINAL FANTASY Active Time Battle (ATB) system in place. Players battle their way through the most epic FINAL FANTASY moments, woven together for the first time on mobile with an all-new tale. Featuring skill-based interactive gameplay, players plan attacks, carefully choose tactics, and engage enemies in active time battles.

The game has already launched by Square Enix and DeNA to the Play Store, but won’t be available for US users until the Spring. If you’d like to pre-register for the game through the official Final Fantasy: Record Keeper site, you’ll be able to unlock special rewards and playable characters when the game is released, like Tidus from Final Fantasy X. Be sure to pre-register for early updates, and keep an eye out for the game to launch on the Google Play Store and iOS App Store sometime in the Spring.
