Facebook knows that you like its cute emoticon characters, and to satiate the sensation it's released a photo editing app that works with Messenger.

Having only signed-up for Facebook a month ago, one of the most amusing, if not downright charming, features that jumped out was the cute emoticons Zuckerberg and Company had created. Slightly anime-inspired, the stickers bring a sense of the whimsical to what might otherwise be just another food posting. Clearly Facebook knows this, as it has just released a companion app to its stand-alone Creative Labs app from the Facebook Messenger staff, called Stickered.

Stickered allows users to adorn their photos with the various faces that were previously limited to text, allowing for a much more creative approach to photo-sharing. It’s also a sure-fire way to avoid unnecessary face tagging: who could recognize with a giant Yeti on your gob?

From the Google Play Store:

  • Pick as many stickers as you want.
  • Stick them on before or after you snap a photo.
  • Decorate photos from your gallery, too.
  • Drag, pinch, stretch and rotate stickers.
  • Add captions to complete the scene.
  • Send your creations to friends with Messenger.
