How would you like to use your Android phone or tablet to pilot a remote controlled car? A little interested? BlueDrone is a new project on Kickstarter that is looking to raise some rather serious funds ($200,000 to be exact) but has the ambitious plan to sell a Bluetooth compatible remote control car. Check out the video below for more details. Really though – it”s a simple idea, and if it’s executed correctly, will probably sell pretty well.
The idea is this: buy the Bluedrone RC vehicle, pair it with your Android smartphone or tablet, launch the custom app, and you are ready to go. You can use either the devices touchscreen or even the accelerometer like a steering wheel to drive.
“This BlueDrone product has been a personal dream for many years. At last, the technology and manufacturing has finally come together to make this r/c concept a reality. This blend of technology and product interaction makes BlueDrone the ultimate tech-toy and holiday gift for 2011!
BlueDrone is a bluetooth-controlled r/c car that can be paired and controlled by using any android smartphone or tablet (android 2.1 or greater). You control the car with standard touchscreen controls, or even use the accelerometer for motion-based controlling. Enjoy three hours of battery life (3x AA batteries), 30ft range, responsive steering, and a powerful motor.”
Any thoughts? Would you buy one if they were 30 bucks?
